What is Electrolyzed Water?

Hypochlorous acid is nature’s oldest disinfectant, and it happens to be walking around in about 7.5 billion people right now. As in inside all humans, this very moment. Why? It’s the substance your white blood cells produce to fight off infections. It’s also the active ingredient in electrolyzed water, which is an industrial technology used for green cleaning and sanitizing. Electrolyzed water is made when electricity is used to change the chemical structure of water, salt & vinegar into a green cleaner that is 100x stronger than bleach, but with no harmful chemicals, fumes or residues. Pretty cool right, but why haven’t you seen this in your local supermarket? Because it is all natural and a green product, it has a very low shelf life of only 7-12 days before the Electrolyzed water starts to lose its power. That’s one of the top reasons it’s only been used in the industrial space, where it’s made in large tanks and used up on site. Which also is the reason that disposal is not hazardous. Old unused Hypochlorous Acid simply just turns back into water. Until now the average homeowner did not have the ability to so easily make it from home.

Hypochlorous acid for disinfecting

A successful clean room disinfectant needs to meet many criteria, not only in terms of its efficacy but also in terms of packaging, ease of use and operator acceptability. Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is the most effective disinfectant in the chlorine family available in a diluted solution. Hypochlorous Acid is even being used in the South Korean “clean zones” in the fight against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19 and given how powerful it is at killing microbes, it is also used for preserving fresh produce. It’s USDA approved for use in organic crop production. With the help of Chemistry, along with our Electrode, water, salt and vinegar a disinfectant and deodorizer is born. The Electrolyzed Water is 100x stronger than bleach and is perfect for all your residential and commercial applications. Truly you will be surprised that you can use this on almost every surface you come in contact with! The sky is the limit. It’s just as effective as the top conventional cleaners, but with zero toxic chemicals. Earning a 100% top allergen-free rating by the Mayo Clinic’s Skin Safe product safety rating system and its even used by ophthalmologist across the world.

Why our product is better than all the others

It is simple, really! This single fact makes our product superior: you can make Electrolyzed water from anywhere in the world that you might find yourself. Any time, any place. From the city to the country. Not to mention it only takes 15 minutes to make a quart of disinfectant for any surface that you can imagine. After the purchase of your NatureChlor you only need 3 simple household items. Water, Salt and Vinegar. The NatureChlor will last a normal family around 50 years! What other product can say that? You might ask, how I came up with this number. It is because the electrode has about 5000 hours of run time available on them and if one quart takes 15 minutes, the average family makes 2 quarts per week and 105 a year using only 52 hrs and so on, I think you are understanding where I am going with this. The NatureChlor is a single lifetime investment that you will not regret. The complete package could fit in a coat pocket and ran off a DC solar panel. We have actually been making this product for about 10 years now but it wasn’t until recently (Covid-19) that we saw the great need in the world and switched gears to help keep you safe. Never again will you not be able to buy disinfectant for your own surrounding because the stores are out of the chemicals that we have been taught we need. You will now hold that power in your own hands with non hazardous Electrolyzed water that is 100x stronger than bleach. It is amazing and if you can’t tell I am excited to share this product with you!

Let’s talk Science

When an electrical charge is passed through a salt (NaCl) solution, the sodium separates from the chloride. Chloride is negatively charged and is attracted to the positive side of the electrical charge where it bonds with oxygen and hydrogen from the water. It gets converted from Cl- to HOCl, otherwise known as Hypochlorous acid. Not all chlorine species are equally effective as disinfectants. Many studies have explored the mechanism of chlorine disinfection and although it is not possible to explain precisely how each particular chlorine species works, current theory believes that inactivation occurs by means of one or more of the following mechanisms: inactivation of the key enzymes; disruption of nucleic acids rendering them non-functional; and oxidative damage to cell walls or other vital cell components. For each of the mechanisms described above the effectiveness of each disinfecting agent is a function of both its rate of diffusion through the cell wall and it’s reactivity with the cell wall, proteins and nucleic acid. Even with all of this, due to its low pH and available chlorine concentration, the product also carries no hazard and thus requires no specialized PPE or disposal consideration. Don’t just take our word for it! Hypochlorous Acid is used for disinfecting hospitals, ICUs, nursing homes, veterinary clinics, schools, daycares, restaurants, hotels, gyms and more and it’s on the EPA’s List of Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.
